The Cycle Infrastructure Design Workshop organised by ChiCycle and the Chichester Cycle Forum is now taking place on Saturday 1st October. The event had to be postponed from earlier in the year due to the serious injuries suffered by organiser Sarah Sharp.
When: Saturday 1st October (9.30 Registration for a 10.00am start, ending 4.00pm)
Where: St Paul’s Parish Hall, Churchside, Chichester, PO19 6FT
Mark Strong, Managing Consultant of Transport Initiatives, Phil Jones, of Phil Jones Associates, one of the UK’s Leading Independent Transport Planning Specialists, and Dr Rachel Aldred, Senior Lecturer in Transport at the University of Westminster will be equipping delgates with the practical skills needed to better design how we use the space in our towns, cities and the countryside.
Campaigners, members of the public and businesses interested in sustainable travel are all invited to attend this opportunity to keep up-to-date with the latest guidelines used in London and other cities in the UK and beyond which are at the forefront of the very best city planning. The aim is to ensure we use and share space in the best possible way.
With a growing population we need to find the best way to move people into and out of our villages, towns and cities and to limit congestion, pollution and unhealthy lifestyles. This is not about leisure cycling, but about putting cycle infrastructure in place that will enable a genuine modal shift, to the benefit of everybody.
Please log on here to reserve your ticket.
This will be a rare opportunity to hear some of the top speakers in the country. Not to be missed!
Mark Strong and Rachel Aldred were keynote speakers at the Horsham Cycling Summit in June last year. You can view their presentations here:
This workshop is open to everyone – you do not have to live in Chichester or even West Sussex to attend.
