Core issues
Main routes across the town: We decided to document these using Google Maps, providing our views of the route and references to the recommendations in the Horsham Cycling Review.
Link paths between cul-de-sacs: Possibly include on a Google Map.
Website: The HDCF website is now accessible but we need to get some basic content up before we can publicise it. To get started we need some simple content (and pictures/videos) together with links to the following:
- Horsham Cycling Review
- Highlight certain maps in the Review (possibly getting hold of original high quality images)
- Cycle maps, e.g. the WSCC one
- Any consultations affecting cyclists in the district
- Other interesting or relevant websites
Use the Mole Valley Cycling Forum and Bricycles websites for ideas.
Other matters
Old Wickhurst Lane: Concern that any new “relief road” for the new development would cut across this important route to the Downs Link (with the potential for another barrier to cycling like the A264 crossings).
Actions
Before the next meeting:
- All – produce Google Maps and sent to Clive
- Clive – incorporate routes into one map
- Clive – Get a basic website up and running
- All – produce content for the website!
